The number of pulses in a burst can be reduced to single-pulse mode, which is what makes one source usable for micromachining, scribing and resistor trimming as well as for marking. A built-in optical isolator protects against back reflection, so highly reflective material can be processed, and a red pilot laser shows where the beam will land.
